Midday Cafe is a daily interview show hosted by Jemila Ericson.  Jemila talks with artists, actors, dancers, painters, writers as well as the movers and shakers involved in presenting the local festivals that celebrate the Cape Fear region and its people. Jemila also brings to listeners conversations with the individuals and groups in our community that offer such noteworthy services such as literacy tutoring, child advocacy, and environmental stewardship.

Soup to Nuts Hosted by George Scheibner Airs Saturdays at 9:30pm

One thing that WHQR's George Scheibner has long wanted to do is give musicians from the Wilmington music scene a chance to showcase their talents live in our studios.  Soup to Nuts Live! is a new monthly concert series in our gallery space where some of the best talent from our area perform before a live audience who will be there just for the music. George hosts and talks with the performers about their lives and their music.  The concerts will air during a special night of Soup to Nuts.

Evening Concert      Hosted by Pat Marriott      Airs Monday from 8-10pm

Evening Concert originated in the cutting room of a movie studio, when clips from The Music Man and Young Frankenstein were inadvertently spliced together.  Long-time host Pat Marriott, a classical, jazz, and Broadway buff and lifelong record collector, astounds and alarms Monday evening audiences with a potpourri of musical "believe-it-or-noddities," pieces that for one reason or another are not generally heard on daytime radio.  Often this is simply because they are too bizarre for general consumption. 

Listeners get sounds like Michael Daugherty's Le Tombeau de Liberace, JS Bach on the banjo, and Malcolm Arnold's A Grand, Grand Overture, scored for symphony orchestra, floor polisher, 3 vacuum cleaners, and 4 rifles.
